This is a very heavy tanged Chisel ; it is of the finest quality, being of the Ward & Payne(Sheffield) make. It is used by carpenters for putting on door butts, being much lighter and handier than the ordinary long chisel.

This is especially made for mortising locks into doors, and its peculiar shape adapts it for this class of work.
